Our Answer: Shechen created a complete educational pathway—from primary school through advanced practice—that blends authentic Tibetan Buddhist teaching with contemporary methods.
The Journey:
Shechen School – 300 students build strong foundations in languages, math, science, computer skills, and Buddhist studies.
Shechen Shedras (nuns and monks) – Graduates pursue intensive 9-year programs in Buddhist philosophy, sacred texts, and debate, earning the equivalent of a master’s degree.
Beyond the Degree – Graduates become:
- Community teachers and global educators
- Scholars using modern research techniques with Hamburg University professors
- Publishers producing critical editions of essential texts (8 published, 4 in production)
- Men and women practitioners completing three-year retreats
