In 2004 Rabjam Rinpoche built a small retreat center on the hill above Shechen Orgyen Chodzong Nunnery in Bhutan at the request of the nuns who wanted to do intensive meditation practice. Since its inception, thirty nuns have completed the traditional three-year retreat. The center can accommodate seven nuns who practice the terma cycle of teachings of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

They are guided by Rabjam Rinpoche and a female retreat master. The center provides a unique opportunity for women to practice in ideal retreat conditions.
