Rabjam Rinpoche in North America
Rabjam Rinpoche recently visited America (East Coast), Mexico, and Columbia, where he gave teachings and bestowed empowerments based on the writings and treasure teachings of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
In total, over 3,000 people had an opportunity to receive his teachings. We hope Rinpoche will return to the USA again in 2021 and visit other states as well. Thank you to all the volunteers who made the wonderful visit possible.
With these photos (“mouse over” them to see captions) we hope to share some of the experiences with you:
Year-End Appeal: The Shechen School
The Shechen School is a secular-monastic school located on the grounds of Shechen Monastery in Nepal. 180 boys (ages 5-15) from all over the Himalayan region are educated in spiritual/monastic and secular subjects (math, science, computers, three languages, history).
The school’s operating budget (including 12 teachers, computer and science labs, a library and so on) is entirely paid by individual contributions.
Your donations, large or small, make a difference:
$25 = art supplies for Pre-K
$50 = language text books and library books
$75 = science lab supplies and books
$100+ salaries for the lay and monastic teachers
Your gifts offer these children a secular and spiritual education that gives them the tools to meet life’s challenges and to continue Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche teachings of compassion and wisdom.
OR become a sponsor and help the monastery to provide housing, medical care, food and clothing to a young monk or nun ($250 annually).

100,000 Recitations in Bodhgaya
Rabjam Rinpoche and over a hundred Shechen monks and nuns gathered at the sacred site of Bodhgaya in India during the first week of December to chant 100,000 recitations of the Bodhisattva’s Confession Prayers. Rinpoche led the prayers, joined by Gyalse Rinpoche, Lama Lungrik Nyima, Matthieu Ricard and monastics and lay-people from all across Asia and the world.
This ceremony was first performed in 1975 when Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche invited a hundred monks to the Great Stupa to participate in the ceremony of 100,000 confession prayers. It is thanks to the wish of the Royal Grandmother of Bhutan, Gyalyum Kelzang Chodron Wangchuk, that this event once again took place.
Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche in Croatia
Every Autumn, Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche teaches at the Shechen Fall Retreat in Croatia. In November, he continued the teachings that he began last year and offered classes for a new group of students.
Lama Lungrik Nyima also gave teachings and Sean Price was the translator. In this lovely setting, Rinpoche was able to meet and spend time with the participants in private interviews.
Shechen Frescos – Join Us and Reach the Goal!
Thanks to an ongoing matching fund, Shechen is just $9,000 short of its $125,000 budget goal to complete the painting of the frescos that were destroyed in the 2015 earthquake.
Help us to cover the walls of the Shechen Temple with beautiful images of masters, dakinis, and protectors from the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
As Rabjam Rinpoche reminds us,
“In the Buddhist tradition, contributing to the building of a temple or stupa, publishing Dharma texts, and painting thangkas and frescos are all a way of accumulating merit. If you could sponsor even one section of the Shechen frescos, you will be doing something wonderful and meritorious.”
These walls depicting the rules of practicing the Vinaya can be painted with your support! |
You or your center or group can sponsor the painting of a one of these unique Rimed images. Every dollar you contribute will be doubled until the end of the year.
Become part of Restore Shechen Frescos and DONATE AND BROWSE the images and walls that you can contribute to@ www.shechenfrescos.org
Please note that if you are donating toward a particular figure you sponsorship is NOT exclusive, as that price is kept low so that many people can participate. The actual cost of the whole fresco project is $125,000. As of today, we have raised $116,000.
