Meet the Teachers of the Shechen School
Jhabindra Kumar Subedi
Principal of the Shechen School
“My name is Jhabindra Kumar Subedi (aka Karma Tsering). I born at the eastern Terai region of Nepal. I did my primary education in my village and then came to Kathmandu for higher studies in science, law, and education.
I have been working in the field of education in Nepal for many years both as a teacher and academic administrator. Before I came to Shechen I worked at Thrangu Rinpoche’s School in Kathmandu.
I was hired by the Shechen Mahaboudha Vidyalaya (The Shechen School) to be their principal in 2015. It is a great opportunity for me to work in a Buddhist school with a Buddhist community. Working in a monastic school is completely different than working in other private schools because here we have the challenge of teaching Dharma integrated with modern education.
Rabjam and Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche, the founders of the school are amazing and their vision is wonderful.
The school now has government approval. The curriculum and the teaching methodology need to be checked and revised to fit the situation of the young monks. Providing modern education along with spirituality is a main necessity in the present world as only this can bring peace and prosperity.
Therefore I am happy to work with the little monks, and I am trying my best to make this school a better place of care and learning. I thank all the kind and generous people who are supporting our school and its programs.”
Please sponsor a young monk’s education. Thank you.
