Tibetan New Year (Losar) Ceremonies at Shechen Monastery, Nepal

February 8th marks the beginning of the new year in the Tibetan calendar - the Year of the Earth Rat.  Annually at this time, Shechen Monastery performs special ceremonies, and drubchens (ceremonies that extend for 24 hours over many days).
