The restoration work on the Shechen main temple has reached a new milestone. Thanks to hundreds of generous donors from over 30 countries we were able to finally reach this stage of rebuilding after the 2015 earthquakes.

The temple will be able to be used this year for the annual ceremonies. On February 17th Rabjam Rinpoche offered the Yamantaka Empowerment to Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche and the monks of Shechen Monastery. This is the first event to be held in the Temple, since the earthquakes.
This is a joyful moment for Shechen after the year and a half of arduous restoration work. However, the temple is only partially restored and work will resume in in mid-April. Once they are finished, the restoration work will resume, including the huge task of repainting the murals inside the temple. Right now the walls and exterior are white and bare, but this will change in the next stage of work.

We have made great progress thanks to all of you!
