“On this the Tibetan 15th day, the full moon, the Buddha descended from the heavens into the world.   On this day, may we all make prayers for those who have lost their lives. May the blessings of the great Buddha bathe the people of Nepal with healing and hope at these difficult times.

I especially want to make special mention of the incredible efforts and spirit of compassion that so many small groups, monasteries, nunneries, NGOs, and individuals have been made during this time in the aftermath of this terrible earthquake. I would also like to acknowledge work of the  government agencies, the military, and the police force in these efforts.

“I think it’s important to highlight that the efforts to bring assistance to those in need are being made on so many levels. It has really shown how resilient and compassionate the various peoples of the Himalayas are. I would like to express my gratitude to all of them, and to all the  foreign NGO’s and individuals here who have come here to offer their expert help.”
